Celebrating His life and his legacy

This is about Celebrating Dr. Tebabu Tessema Wubetu. His life and his legacy. The way we are celebrating Dr, Tebabu Tessema Wubetu is by lovingly remembering the four continuum the life journeys he travelled to the end. We start by sharing his early life in Debre Zeit, followed by his university years.  Unfortunately, his university years were interrupted by political upheaval which led to his political struggle years and eventually to exile and settlement abroad. 

His early childhood in Debre Zeit shaped what a great person he become. To shed light on his childhood home, explored what Debre Zeit looked like, especially in the 1950s and 1960s. Although we did not have adequate information about the characteristics of the community in the 1950s and 1960s, the 2007 census data was employed to look back and uncover the community characteristics that he called home for his formidable young age. Using the 2007 community profile, and extrapolation, we can envision what Debre Zeit would have looked like in the 1950s and 1960s.

All this is brought together with the aid of the Debre Zeit magic website. The website is the tool that is used to celebrate Dr. Tebabu Tessema Wubetu as well as tell the story about Dr. Tebabu Tessema Wubetu and his friend’s life as it happened in the magical place we call it Debre Zeit.  The hope is that a lot of people will came forward and share their fond memories of what is it like growing in Debre Zeit in the 1950 and 1960s and years after that. Also share their special memories of what it was like growing up with brilliant people like Dr. Tebabu Tessema Wubetu.
